Nintendo on the front too small. Golden Sun on the spine is cut off on top and bottom. And for my taste the front is way to "turbulent". You got no clear point to look at. The impression of the package is not bad, but the front does ruin a lot.
Very uncreative. I do like that you changed up the logo, but pretty much just grabbing the first official artwork with very little edited and call it a box.
#8, that's all boxart is, taking a picture, editing it to make it more appealing, then adding renders and relevant text. Unless someone outright draws their own images or creates the text/borders from scratch, all anyone does is just editing pictures. There's no need to drastically alter an image unless it fits with the overall theme of the box. In this case, I not only had to render the two on the back, but I did a lot of re-working of the positioning of the characters and did a fair share of smudging and re-doing the effects to coincide with the background. I didn't do this box just to be "firsties". I found this image and realized that with these three characters I could effectively craft a box, which I did. I'm sorry that you aren't a fan of it, but don't downplay the work I put into this box just because it all came from a single image and the colors are similar. Should I have made everything red so as to not look like I had copied and pasted directly?
nope... that`s one of those statements of people who don`t know anything about the real work (package)designers do. it is not just sitting and editing images. you gotta get a concept and all that stuff (scribbles,...), not brainless editing and throwing images into some template. i don`t wanna say you made it that way but it looks like you got no real clear path in the design. it is, as mentioned, "turbulent" resulting in the "you just wanted to be the first" thingie. the little flaws, like the small nintendo logo and the cut off logo on the spine, affirm that in some way ´cause it seems like you had no time to make these things at least a bit right. i mean... c´mon, even you have to see a cut off logo ist somewhat wrong, right?
With the side logo, I spent about 30 minutes trying to fit it in there right while trying not to make it too small. Also I was trying to integrate it with the 3d template, which I'm still new with. I see what you mean now with it though and I'll work on it. As for the nintendo logo, I got it off a 2d temp that was the same size so I didn't know it was wrong. I'll get to that too.
