John Carpenter is the man and this movie kicks serious ass. Rowdy Roddy Piper and the all seeing shades!

Perfect representation of film's meaning.

I'm here to chew bubblegum and make boxart, and I'm all out of bubblegum.

This is my box for John Carpenter's classic cult hit. Hot damn, this movie was amazing. I'm REALLY pissed they're remaking it; Hollywood, I don't care if you've got no ideas left, it was perfect before, you won't be able to replicate it, leave it the hell alone. Ray Blade made a They Live remake box a while back, and it looked great, but, no offense, his casting choices were horrible. Daniel Craig as Nada? You want him to replace Rowdy Roddy Piper? He's not even a wrestler. GTFO man :P.

This is also my box for Round 1 of Drakxxx's equally badass Halloween Competition, but Death dropped out, so you didn't get to see an epic battle between Geno and Death :P.

This is also my first Criterion Collection box. I personally thought I did a good job of capturing the meaning/theme of the film here, but I'd love to be hit with a wall of text if you disagree :P. I'm a boxartist, not an artist.

Major thanks go to Indexenos for his amazing Criterion template, and Wikipedia for an amazing picture of the Los Angeles skyline.

...for the love of God, if you have yet to watch this movie, you are missing out on the greatest celebration of 80s American badassery and conspiracy theory of all time.

EDIT: I added a printable for those who are epic enough to own a copy of this movie.

I have to start out by confessing that I've never seen this movie. I probably wouldn't mind giving it a try, as this boxart makes the movie sound pretty damn good.

My favorite thing is the subliminal messages on the front and back. Very bold, but subtle at the same time. I definitely dig it.

A pretty effective design. However, I think that you could've used a better, more sleeker font than the one you used, which I'm guessing is Arial.

And after reading the plot, I need to see this movie!

#3s and 4, thanks much. I guess the font could be a bit sleeker, now that I look at it.

And seriously, watch this movie right now. It's at 88% on the Tomatometer, but it used to be 96% :).
