This is my first box art in a while, and my first in photoshop, but I'm ready to take any criticism it gets, as long as the criticism is constructive.
(Not "Lol u bad boxart u sukk!!")
Took about 2 hours work, which was divided throughout one day, during which I converted a few renders to tones and perfected the blurb.
I was going to put it in 3D, but the tutorial is not for CS4, so I didn't end up doing so. I might change the box after taking enough criticism of
one kind, provided it'll improve the box though. Thanks to Eternal Oblivion for the Template, and all renders are from a search of 'Fallout' on Planet Renders.
Hope you like it, Darkmast508.
I'm disregarding your comment's negative parts as from your profile, I can read that on very few occasions you write anything positive.
And did you read my post? I said make it Constructive Criticism, not criticism. If you think it's that bad, then what can I do to improve?
Thanks, Darkmast508.
Two things:
It's hard to make out what I'm looking at on the front. I'm guessing it's a flag, with a rocket behind it?
Second, if you were to put this in an actual case, 80% of the flag pole would be cut off (as bleeds into the spine and onto the back) and would make it even harder to distinguish what I'm looking at.
You can't just make something in 5 minutes and call it an 'Essence' box. I'll list what's wrong with this:
1. It's on Wii. The Wii can't handle Fallout 3. It's too awesome.
2. This obviously took almost no time at all. A few renders, a few colors.
3. No recognizable Fallout images--at least none that are immediately recognizable. An 'Essence' box is meant to be the 'essence' of the game. And a Fallout 'Essence' box would have the Vault Boy or at the very least an Enclave/Brotherhood of Steel soldier on it.
OK - Thank you Grand. I'm disregarding the Wii comment and I've decided I'm going to recreate the box. If you didn't like it this time around, then please take a second look later.

You can't just take two renders, make them only one color, and call it an Essence Box.

Plus, the back is totally empty.

#5, agreed. This is a good example how Criterion/Essence design is not done.

I'm posting off my iPod right now, but I have a version with the back realigned a bit and captioned screenshots.
Using transparency I may lay on a faint image of what's there.
I've seen that there are some spelling mistakes in the blurb, I don't think I can change that.
Sven, once again, you need to be constructive. Eat_Nade was.
Thanks,darkmast508
