Love the new game, and this is what I came up with for a box. Since the games story deals with time travel, I had the idea of fusing the Mortal Kombat logo with a clock. I also really didn't want the box to focus only only the logo(like the 3 PS2 officials did) or on Sub-Zero or Scorpion. So here is the final result, I hope you Mortal Kombat fans think I did ok.

You did a fantastic job on this, I love the way you stylized the logo and made a front without Scorpion or Sub-Zero.
And the "Pantality" part made me chuckle.

Very nice. Take the lightning off the logo on the front and it will be perfect.

#3, The lightning on the logo is to go with the changing effect with the clock..

Very nice job with the logo and the overall layout is also great.
However, there are few things that bother me:
1) the bottom of the front seems too empty; I would either a) push everything down a bit, b) space out dev logos and put one of them in the middle bottom.
2) I would add more orange to the front so it balances the dominant orange color in the back.
3) Change the effects on the tagline. It looks too bland and does not stand out much. It would look really cool if the tagline looked similar to the logo.
You make those changes and imo, this cover will kick-ass and be one of the best MK covers on the site! :)

#4, Yes. But it really ruins it. Its really dull. It just looks like a random lightning thrown in there.

I really like the front and the logo aside from the electricity on it. Very creative idea, the front looks like it has a sepia tone over it, which makes the characters less vibrant than the ones on the back. The sepia tone would be cool only if you followed it through the back to make the cover more consistent.

You're back is amazing, can't find a flaw, however, i personally find the front a boring mess. I feel for Mortal Kombat games, the logo should be the main center of attraction, as it does symbolize Mortal Kombat and is one of the most recognizable symbols I can think of. The characters feel random, out of place, and oddly bunched with each other. Why Goro, Ermac, and Kitana? I think swapping them with Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, and maybe Johnny Cage would be more appropriate. The front just doesn't scream Mortal Kombat to me. The back alone makes this fav worthy, but i'm just giving you a Mortal Kombat fans opinion on the front.

#11, I am so sick of that Dragon symbol being the face of every Mortal Kombat game, that's why it's not the main focus here. As for my character choices, I like to be different so I chose not to use Sub-Zero or Scorpion on the front, look at every Mortal Kombat 9 box so far and they all have at least one of them.
You are right about the choices being random though, they were only chosen because they weren't Scorpion and Sub-Zero, they fit the design, or because I could find resources for them. Though I did want Raiden on the front, and this was originally supposed to be VERY crowded, my inspiration was this poster: link but I didn't want to get that crowded.
I appreciate the critique though, an updated version with better color management will be coming soon.

I really like the clock mk logo, but i agree with jevan. That lightning destroys it for me. The back is really dynamic. But what i really dislike is the spine, it didn't match with the style of the front and the back.

#16, I was afraid of that, I'm aware the spine doesn't match the front or the back, but by the time I realized it the front was pretty much set in stone. Any suggestions on how to make it flow better?

Box updated. I changed the character positions a little, corrected the coloring, changed the spine for one that flows nicer, made the dev logos smaller, and I didn't remove the lightning from the logo, but I edited it to be less "dull".

Good idea keeping things fresh by excluding Sub-Zero and Scorpion from the front. Same with the edited logo and sepia tones, I like the different directions you've taken with this.
