how do you get logos to stand out better? i just realized that the logo isn't looking to good like that. anyone know how to?

In Photoshop there are various effects you can apply to layers to alter their appearance, and make text look more vibrant; (drop shadow, strokes, outer glow, bevels, etc.)

I'm not certain how it works in GIMP, though I'm guessing it's a similar process.

if only i had photoshop. lol. i've tried like the past hour or so trying to make my logos pop out more, but it's not working too good. :( lol.
